Our Matching (Alignment) Philosophy
At Ibis Dental Transitions, we believe that we play a critical role in “matching” owner/practice to a future associate. How do we do this? We use a novel concept we call the “Avatars of Dentists”. Similar to DISC profiling, we create a “persona” or “avatar of dentist” to best align the professional relationship.
What are Dental Avatars?
A dental avatar is a way to describe what “makes a dentist tick”. For some, it’s the quality of the work. For others, it’s the profit left at the end of the day. No dental avatar is right/wrong. Instead, it’s a way to focus on the inner love language of a clinician.
From our experience, the best matches have come from proper alignment of dental avatars. Let’s take a look at the various strengths and weaknesses of the 4 “Dental Avatars”.
It’s been our experience that misalignment between an associate and an owner doctor can be catastrophic. What’s important is not that their avatars match exactly, but that they are not in direct opposition. Our primary focus is identifying and avoiding these high-risk mismatches.
One of the most challenging combinations is when a "Clinical" doctor is paired with a "Financial" doctor. These relationships are often short-lived and frequently end on negative terms. While other risky combinations exist, this one consistently proves problematic.
Conversely, one of the strongest partnerships we've seen is when two "Clinical" doctors align. These collaborations often result in long-term, successful relationships built on shared values and mutual respect.
At Ibis, we take the time to truly understand our client doctors so we can guide potential associateships toward success. This framework has served us exceptionally well. If you'd like to learn more about our partnership tool and methodology, we’d be happy to share more. Reach out to Christopher Katzinski at the email below.
